Should I Order Extra Cork Wall Tiles? | Jelinek Cork Canada

How much extra cork wall covering should I order?

Yes, we do suggest purchasing extra wall tiles over your calculations! We recommend purchasing an additional 15% over your exact square footage to account for off-cuts and future replacements. Off-cuts occur when tiles are trimmed to fit around intersections, windows, cabinets, or other fixed structures. However, the amount of extra material needed can vary depending on the room's complexity.

Additionally, keeping a few extra tiles from your initial purchase is useful for future repairs. Since cork is a natural product, there can be variations in shade and size between production lots. Holding on to a few tiles from the original lot can help ensure a better match if a replacement is needed. Keep in mind that cork may also lighten over time, so these times may not be a perfect match in the future, but they will be the best match to your original wall tiles!

When ordering on our website, you can select "add 15% overage" to quickly add the correct amount without doing the calculations yourself.
