Are Cork Rolls and Sheets FSC Certified? | Jelinek Cork Canada

Are your cork rolls and sheets FSC certified?

Our materials, including our cork rolls and sheets, are not FSC certified because we use a significant percentage of recycled material in our composition cork production.

Although FSC-certified cork forests exist, this certification is less relevant for cork than for other wood types because cork trees are not cut down or harmed during their lifetimes, which often exceed 200 years. They are harvested every 9 years, and the outer bark regenerates between harvests. As a result, forest management for cork differs significantly from that for industries dependent on clear-cutting.
